Its root is Alterative, Anti-arthritic, Anti-asthmatic, Anti-bilious, Anti-flatulent, Anti-gout, Anti-paralytic, Anti-pyretic, Anti-syphilitic, Aphrodisiac, Blood Purifier, Carminative, Demulcent, Deobstruent, Desiccative, Diaphoretic, Diuretic, Emmenagogue, Hepatoprotective, Immunostimulant, Resolvent, Sedative, Stomachic and Tonic. It is highly useful in the treatment of insomnia, blood impurities, retention of urine, dropsy, eczema, headache, migraine, bilious fever, chronic headache, arthritis, lack of concentration, renal obstructions, chorea, polyuria, seminal weakness, pruritis, bleeding piles, piles, epilepsy, syphilis, rheumatism, leprosy, diarrhoea, melancholia, paralysis and gout.
